SafeThreads may collect the following information, only when voluntarily provided by a user or parent/guardian:
- First name or nickname of the individual wearing SafeThreads apparel
- Emergency contact name(s) and phone number(s)
- Optional medical or safety notes (e.g., allergies, communication needs)
- Language preference
- Device and app usage data (for app functionality and improvement)
We do not collect location data, biometric data, or real-time tracking information.
Children & Vulnerable Individuals
SafeThreads is designed for use by:
- Parents or guardians of children
- Caregivers of individuals prone to wandering or elopement
- Adults managing their own safety information
All information related to minors must be entered and managed by a parent or legal guardian.
How Information Is Used
Information is used solely to:
- Display emergency contact and safety information when an NFC tag is scanned
- Improve app functionality and reliability
- Provide customer support
SafeThreads does not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties.
Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect user information. However, no digital system is 100% secure.
Third-Party Access
Information is only displayed to someone who:
- Physically scans a SafeThreads NFC tag, and
- Accesses the linked SafeThreads profile
No accounts or logins are required for emergency viewers.
Data Retention
Users may update or delete their information at any time within the app. Deleted data is removed from our active systems within a reasonable timeframe.
